three steps to your first answer

Meter or CGM, you're minutes from knowing what actually spikes you.

1

Bring your readings

Fingerstick meter? Log a reading in two taps. Wearing a Stelo, Dexcom, Libre, or Lingo? If it writes to Apple Health, spike reads it automatically.

2

Snap your meal

Point your camera at the plate. AI identifies the food and logs calories, carbs, protein, and fat in seconds. Edit anything it gets wrong.

3

See your spike

Your answer arrives: how much the meal moved you, your peak, and your recovery. Meter users log a reading about 2 hours after eating; CGM curves fill in on their own.

built for people watching their blood sugar

Not another calorie counter. spike exists to answer one question: what does food do to your body?

questions, answered

Which CGMs work with spike?

Any CGM that shares data with Apple Health: Dexcom Stelo, Dexcom G6/G7, FreeStyle Libre, and Lingo. Stelo and Lingo are available over the counter in the US for adults 18+, no prescription needed.

What's the best app to pair with Dexcom Stelo?

Stelo's own app shows your current reading. spike is the analysis layer on top: it reads Stelo's data from Apple Health and turns it into per-meal answers, showing the glucose curve, peak, and recovery time for every meal you log. If you bought a Stelo to learn what food does to your body, spike is the app that answers that question.

How is spike different from Levels, Nutrisense, or Signos?

Those services sell programs that bundle sensors, coaching, and an app, typically at $100 or more per month. spike is bring-your-own-CGM: buy a sensor like Stelo over the counter, connect it through Apple Health, and spike does the meal-by-meal analysis for $59.99 a year (or $9.99 a month). Same core insight, no program commitment, at a fraction of the cost.

Can I use spike without a CGM?

Yes. If you check with a fingerstick meter, log your readings right in spike: tap Log, enter the number, done. Your readings build a daily chart, and logging before and after a meal shows you exactly how much that meal moved your blood sugar. No sensor required.

Do I need a prescription to use spike?

No. spike works with any fingerstick meter out of the box, and OTC sensors like Stelo and Lingo need no prescription either. Meal logging with AI nutrition analysis works for everyone.

Why isn't my glucose reading live?

CGM apps share data with Apple Health on a delay. Stelo, for example, delivers readings about 3 hours behind its own app. spike is built around this: it analyzes each meal's full response once the data arrives and notifies you. For your live number, check your CGM's own app; for what it means, check spike.

Is my health data private?

Yes. Glucose readings are read from Apple Health on your device with your explicit permission. We never sell your data and never use your health data for advertising. See our privacy policy for the details.

Is spike a medical device?

No. spike is a wellness app for understanding how food affects your glucose. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition, and it's not a substitute for medical advice. If you have diabetes or another condition, work with your care team.

How much does spike cost?

spike is $59.99 per year (about $5/month, billed annually) or $9.99 per month, with a free trial so you can see your first meal responses before paying. Compared to what you spend on the sensor itself, spike costs a fraction, and it's the part that turns the data into answers.

Is spike available on Android?

spike is iOS-only today. Android is on the roadmap. Email support@spikehealth.app and we'll let you know when it's ready.
